Customer Review: I’m a prime kind of girl… In my bag of camera tricks, I have 3 prime lenses, and this lens is by far on my camera the most. I shoot with a Nikon D80, and this lens compliments my camera very well. The macro is amazing, and ultra sharp; but I also love what it can do for portraits. I recently did some family portraits with this lens, and they turned out beautifully! It might be pricey, but it is so worth it. I promise you wont be disappointed! Customer Review: Great macro for the price I am a beginner to DSLR and wanted to play with macro photography, and am really pleased with the results of this lens–crisp, light-weight, economic, and reliable. I manual focus on such intricate shots as reflections on water drops and have never been disappointed with the results. I would recommend this lens for beginners or intermediate hobbyists.

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor Lens The NIKON 2148 10.5MM f/2.8 G IF-ED Fisheye Lens was designed exclusively for NIKON digital SLR cameras that feature NIKON’s DX Format Sensor. The AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED lens significantly expands NIKON’s DX-Nikkor category of interchangeable lenses. Along with 17-55mm and 12-24mm DX offerings, the 10.5MM lens offers the broadest wide angle coverage available for digital SLR cameras, significantly enhancing lens performance by optimizing them for digital cameras. Compatible with all D-series digital SLR cameras, including the D1, D1X, D1H, D100 and D2H Customer Review: Great lens but… I bought a Tokina 10-17 mm and started shooting with it. I liked it but I felt it was not sharp enough and I heard about the colour aberrations. Therefore I went to bring it back to B&H and I upgraded with the Nikkor 10.5 This is absolutetly more sharp and fast. The only two things that I found bad are: 1) the lens is much more difficult to keep clean than the Tokina’s one; 2) why the hell Nikon decided to produce expensive lenses like the Wideangle 12-24 mm and this Fisheye in crappy plastic?! For keeping down their weight? Fck the weight issue and give me some old time, long lasting great metal body lenses!!!! Customer Review: Lovin’ my fish-eye (wide-angle lens) I am thrilled that I received my fish eye lens in time for our cruise through the Caribbean last week. I love it! It is of excellent quality. I only wish it could do some zooming, but that contradicts the wide-angle bit, I suppose. I shot beautiful island/ocean scenes; great, wide sunsets; captured full rooms of people; captured the length of the ship. And if you crop the top and bottom, you get a great landscape photo (wide but not tall). I highly recommend this to photography enthusiasts.

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras Designed for Nikon digital SLR cameras, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 prime lens is ideal for a wide range of applications, from landscape photography to portraiture. The lens offers an extra-large aperture that guarantees superior peripheral brightness, helping create sharp images with high contrast even at the edges. The molded glass aspherical lens, meanwhile, perfectly corrects for coma aberration to ensure that images look sharp and crisp against a nicely blurred background. And thanks to the integrated Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), the lens enjoys a silent, high-speed autofocus system. Other features include a super multilayer lens coating that reduces flare and ghosting, a minimum focusing distance of 17.7 inches, and a maximum magnification of 1:7.4. As with all Sigma lenses, this 50mm lens carries a one-year warranty.
Specifications
- Focal length: 50mm
- Maximum aperture: f/1.4
- Lens construction: 8 elements in 6 groups
- Angle of view: 46.8 degrees
- Number of diaphragm blades: 9
- Minimum aperture: f/16

- Dimensions: 3.3 inches in diameter and 2.7 inches long

Customer Review: Great quality - liked better than the Canon I purchased both of the lenses and took pictures to compare the two side by side — I liked the looks of the Sigma lens better. Customer Review: backfocus problem I received the lens and returned it the next day, because it has a very serious backfocus problem. Sigma really needs to solve this problem. We had a high hope on this lens, however, the experience is disappointing.

Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC HSM Macro Lens for Nikon DSLR Sigma’s 17-70mm DC macro lens is an ideal large-aperture standard zoom lens for Nikon digital SLR cameras with APS-C size image sensors, making it suitable for a wide variety of subjects. The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 7.9 inches throughout the entire zoom range, along with a maximum magnification of 1:2.3 for close-up macro photography. The new lens design and multilayer lens coating, meanwhile, reduce flare and ghosting–a common problem with many digital cameras. Add in a Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass element and two aspherical lens elements and you have a lens that can correct all types of aberrations while producing a high level of optical performance at every interval.
The lens also offers a large aperture of F2.8 at the 17mm wide-angle setting, yet is notably compact, with an overall length of 3.2 inches and a diameter of 3.1 inches. Plus, it performs superbly even in relatively low-light conditions, such as indoors or at dusk. Users will also appreciate the inner focusing system, which provides a fast autofocus speed while preventing the front of the lens from rotating, making it particularly suitable for use with circular polarizing filters and petal-shaped lens hoods. Also equipped with a zoom lock switch that eliminates “zoom creep” during transport, the lens weighs 16 ounces and carries a one-year warranty. Customer Review: To return, or not to return? In any case, not yet thrilled. Hopefully after working a bit more with this lens, I will come back here and update this review in a positive light. But for now, having just got the lens and taking only a handful of pictures, I am hesitant. I am almost disappointed, only not quite sure yet.

Light weight and very easy to use . Takes really nice pictures. The only thing one should consider is a choice when it come to a lens and that depends what you are going to use the camera for. The 18-55mm comes with the camera I recommend the 70-300mm if you need the extra zoom for sporting events. Theres alot you can do with this camera and once again great for the money. Nikon 85mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras 85mm lens for Nikon SLR cameras Customer Review: Solid lens, expensive, NO LENS Pouch! The bad:
Major dissapointment not to have a lens bag, Nikon went cheap on this one.
The lens hood is metal and screw style mount, it is a hassle. You got to be very careful as it is metal to metal threads, so you better screw it in right to prevent permanent damage.
I bought it from Adorama and had no tamper seal, so keep an eye on that…

Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Medium Telephoto Macro Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras Optimized for Nikon digital SLR cameras but also compatible with film SLR cameras, the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 medium telephoto lens allows a greater working distance between the lens and the subject, helping it excel in all shooting ranges. The increased working distance of the lens is ideal when taking the picture of a flower among several branches, or an insect on a leaf. The narrow angle of view helps simplify the background, while the shallow depth of field makes it easier to handle the composition. The lens also offers a super multi coating that reduces the flare and ghosting that tends to occur when using digital SLR cameras, helping create crisper, sharper photos. And thanks to the Dual Focus (DF) system, the lens is easy to hold during autofocusing, but also offers smooth and positive action should you choose to focus manually on images. Other features include a minimum aperture of f/32, a screw-in lens hood that supports the use of circular polarizing filters, and a minimum focusing distance of 12.3 inches. Offering a 35mm equivalent field of view of 178mm on a digital SLR camera, the lens carries a one-year warranty.

Customer Review: Great lens for the money. I bought this lens for macro work after I saw the photos of a member of my camera club made with the same lens. I wasn’t disappointed. Photos are sharp & clear. Customer Review: Sigma 105 macr ver Nikon micro lenses I need a Macro lens for my Nikon D-60 So I looked at the Nikon AF-S VR 60mm, the Nikon 105 AF-S VR lenses and the Sigma 105 macro lense. The sigma is missing some fetures of the Nikkor lenses, however in macro work you are normal using AP mode and manual focus. I feel the 105 lenses work at more flexable distance from the subject, the quality of the immage between a the nikon 105 and the Sigma is nearly identical. But difference in price is inportant to me. Summar, the sigma has a signifant price/performance edge of the Nikon competers.

Nikon 12-24mm f/4G ED IF Autofocus DX Nikkor Zoom Lens Enjoy a wider angle of view with the Nikon 12-24mm autofocus zoom lens, which is optimized for Nikon digital SLR cameras. The lens offers such features as a 2x zoom ratio, an exclusive Silent Wave Monitor that allows for accurate and quiet high-speed autofocusing, two Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements for minimized chromatic aberration, and three aspherical lens elements for low distortion. Nikon’s D-type design, meanwhile, provides precise distant information for the flash and ambient light exposure processes. Perhaps the nicest feature, however, is the small image circle–the size of the image that’s projected by the lens onto the sensor–which produces an optimal image from the center to the edge to the corner. Other details include a variable angle of view from 99 degrees (at 12mm) to 61 degrees (at 24mm), a rounded diaphragm that makes out-of-focus elements appear more natural, and an 11.8-inch close focus distance throughout the zoom range. All Nikon lenses carry a five-year warranty.
- Focal length: 12-24mm
- Maximum aperture: f/4

Customer Review: A great wide angle My first review for Amazon.com! So to cut to the chase, is this lens great? Was it worth the money? Short answer, yes! Since this lens is so expensive compared to third party lens (Tamron, Sigma, etc.) this lens needs to be great, 5 stars and it is. I use it with a Nikon D300, Photoshop Elements 7 and Epson Stylus inkjet printers. Through it’s full zoom range 12-24mm I couldn’t be happier in regards to resolution, color, contrast. I like the speed of f/4 as I try to avoid using flash. There are other reviewers that will talk about color fringing or distortion. I’m sure they know what they’re talking about but I just don’t see it in my photos. I must say that 12mm (which is 18mm 35mm film equivalent?) is a whole new world! I’m having fun! If you’ve been shooting film and have been waiting for digital to “catch up” I think it’s finally here. With the smaller format image sensor Nikon has had to come out with a whole new line of lens and I think they are outstanding. I think we are in a new golden age for optics. I never would have thought such a wide angle could be so distortion free. When I started out in 35mm photography, reviews would talk about pincushioning with 50mm lens! Can you believe it? And here is a 12mm ZOOM and I really don’t see any noticable distortion let alone something as obvious as pincushioning! SO if you can afford it the Nikon is worth every penny (and thanks for the great pricing Amazon!) but if you can’t there are other less expensive choices with great specs that can meet your needs and where you can be just as creative! Enjoy!
